Yikes – I’ve been slacking with the posts, always a sign that work is busy. I spent all week a day off and was positive yesterday was Tuesday. Oops. Fall is BUSY with stuff every weekend. There’s so much stuff that we’re picking and choosing. It’s tiring, but it’s a nice problem to have and makes it really feel like a season.

This past Saturday was the annual Fall Festival at Finn’s school and we had a blast. He decorated cupcakes, jumped around a bouncy house, made a magic wand? Got his face painted, and spent somewhere between 1.5 and 2 hours in a cardboard box maze. Let this be a lesson: you do NOT need to spend much money on toys. I loved watching him play with his friends from school – it warmed my heart. And I really love how this school has created such a vibrant community.

My favorite store, Big Night, opened a location in the UES and offered a swag bag for the first 50 customers each day of opening weekend. I made sure to get in line early on Sunday so I could make the cut and it was well worth it. I’m so happy to have this store closer to my apartment. The access to tinned fish alone is a boon to my pantry.

I have finished 53 books so far this year and am truly crushing it. Once I crossed the 15-book mark of Book of the Month tomes, I officially became a Book Boss – an award I carry with pride. The funny thing is, I do feel like a boss. O generally happier the more I read because it means a consistent feeling of escaping to another world. It’s so calming to me.
